Program & Curriculum
A Creative Curriculum helps children acquire the social competence and skills needed to succeed as confident learners. At Lil’ People’s World we believe that children learn through play and that we are here to create a developmentally appropriate environment to help them do just that.
Infant Curriculum
Our daily infant curriculum is broken up into four categories of development:
- Physical Experience
- Listening and Talking Experience
- Creative Experience
- Learning From the World
This schedule will fluctuate based on each individual infant’s demands and needs.

Physical Experience
To assure our infants reach their appropriate physical development milestones, we employ our Physical Experiences curriculum. Physical Experiences utilizes motor activities that focus on both large and small muscle development.
Listening and Talking Experience
Before the age of one, infants are learning to understand the things that we are saying. For this reason, we provide a Listening and Talking Experience, which includes reading books, singing songs, and talking about the surroundings to aid in their communication development.
Creative Experience
Creative Experience allows infants to explore the many beauties that arts and crafts expose our minds to. The process of ‘art with infants’ enables our children to explore and experiment with different smells, textures, and artistic tools as a means of facilitating an early understanding of creative thought and design.
Learning From the World
Learning from the World introduces the infant to the world around us, allowing us to aid in their sensory development within a free, yet controlled environment. Examples of these activities can be found in the weekly sample schedule included below.
Waddler & Toddler Curriculum
We use a teaching strategy called “Creative Curriculum,” when educating our Waddlers & Toddlers. Creative Curriculum primarily focuses on:
- Meeting the child’s basic needs
- Fostering social-emotional development
- Developing relationships
- Supporting cognition and brain development
The goal of our Waddler & Toddler curriculum is to help children develop both their body and their minds in a safe and healthy place. These early, positive interactions with caring adults can give young children the confidence they need to explore their surroundings and take joy in their day-to-day discoveries.

Pre-School & Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum
We use a teaching strategy called “Creative Curriculum,” when educating our Pre-Schoolers & Pre-Kindergarteners. Creative Curriculum primarily focuses on:
- Meeting the child’s basic needs
- Fostering social-emotional development
- Developing relationships
- Supporting cognition and brain development
Creative Curriculum for Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten is a comprehensive, science based, early childhood education curriculum that has demonstrated through studies to have a positive impact on the quality of the child’s classroom conduct, as well as improvements to cognitive and social-emotional development.
Creative Curriculum promotes positive physical, social, and cognitive outcomes for children through a variety of activities including fine motor, large motor, sensory, art, dramatic play, and science activities.

Before & After School Care
Our Before & After School Care offers a range of planned activities and a comprehensive School Age program. In the mornings, we provide breakfast for the children and ensure they get to school on time. After school, we pick them up, offer a snack, and provide time for homework, outdoor play, and other free play activities.
Our facility includes various areas equipped with games, blocks, puzzles, dramatic play, and much more to keep the children engaged. We also accommodate the children on school half-days and full closure days, including all breaks such as summer break. During these times, our teachers plan a full day of activities and special events to keep the children entertained and active.

Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum
Program & Curriculum
At Lil’ People’s World we use a Teaching Strategy called “Creative Curriculum”. This strategy believes that children learn best when they are actively involved with materials and with others. Creative Curriculum is nationally recognized for its forward-thinking, comprehensive, and rigorously researched model which assists in our content rich, and developmentally appropriate program that supports active learning and promotes children’s progress in all developmental areas.
The overall program and curriculum is continuously growing, and is implemented throughout the day with an activity schedule that focuses on all building blocks of development.
Each day the children are greeted upon arrival, then immediately engaged with their daily routine. When walking into your child’s developmentally appropriate classroom, you will notice the surroundings to be age appropriate and individually appropriate as well as culturally relevant to all the children in care. It is our job to create an enriched environment, a place where children feel trust and consistency, and are able to build on their unique characteristics.
At Lil’ People’s World, our children are grouped not only by their age, but also based on their emotional and developmental readiness. Children are transitioned into a different group only when it has been determined through observation and the completion of a developmental assessment.
This will aide in determining whether the child is physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively ready to advance to the next group. Lil’ People’s World believes that a child’s growth experience begins the moment they enter the door and continues through the time they spend at home.
At Lil’ People’s World, we make an on-going effort to value children as individuals, and embrace their unique skill sets to better set them up for success in school and later in life.

How Can You Get Involved?
Ask a teacher or check the parent board to determine the curriculum for the week. Implement learning at home by asking your child questions, adding additional activities, and discussing their day.
Learn from your child, figure out how your child learns best, and help convey that to the teacher. Communicate ways they may benefit from the learning environment.
Arrive early to pick up your child and get involved with the teacher and their style of teaching. Communicate to the teachers your child’s individual needs to help us better understand your child.
