Get In Touch

Choosing the right full-day preschool for your child feels like a big decision. Every family in the Bridle Trails neighborhood of Kirkland wants a safe, nurturing place. Moreover, they want a program that helps their child grow with confidence.

At Lil’ People’s World, we understand this feeling well. We have cared for young children in the Seattle area since 1994. As a result, we know what makes early learning both joyful and meaningful.

This guide walks you through everything you need to know. Additionally, it explains why Bridle Trails families love our warm, play-based approach.

What Is Full-Day Preschool?

A full-day preschool offers care and learning for most of the workday. Therefore, it supports busy parents who need reliable, quality child care. Meanwhile, children enjoy a rich, structured day full of discovery.

Unlike a half-day program, full-day preschool includes meals, rest, and play. In addition, it blends learning with plenty of free time. Because of this, children stay engaged without feeling rushed.

Who Benefits Most?

Working parents across Kirkland benefit greatly from this option. However, stay-at-home families also love the social growth it offers. Children build friendships and independence throughout the day.

Full-day care suits children who thrive on routine. For example, a predictable schedule helps little ones feel calm and secure. As a result, they explore more freely and learn more deeply.

Why Bridle Trails Families Choose Play-Based Learning

Bridle Trails sits in a quiet, green corner of Kirkland. Families here value nature, community, and thoughtful care. Therefore, a play-based preschool fits this neighborhood perfectly.

We believe children learn best through play. Play is not just fun; it is powerful. Moreover, it builds language, problem-solving, and social skills every single day.

Learning Through Everyday Experiences

Our teachers turn simple moments into learning opportunities. For instance, building blocks teach early math ideas. Meanwhile, pretend play strengthens communication and empathy.

Research supports this approach strongly. The National Association for the Education of Young Children highlights the value of developmentally appropriate practice. As a result, our curriculum reflects these trusted early childhood standards.

A Warm, Child-Centric Environment

We treat every center as a child’s home away from home. Additionally, our classrooms feel cozy and welcoming. Children explore, create, and rest in comfortable, safe spaces.

Our caring teachers know each child by name. Because of this, they tailor experiences to each child’s needs. Every day becomes an invitation to learn.

What a Full-Day Preschool Schedule Looks Like

A well-planned day keeps children happy and engaged. First, mornings often begin with greetings and free play. Next, teachers guide small-group activities and circle time.

Then, children enjoy outdoor play and creative projects. Meals and quiet rest follow in the afternoon. Finally, the day ends with more play before pickup.

Sample Daily Highlights

  • Morning play: Free choice and social connection.
  • Circle time: Songs, stories, and group learning.
  • Outdoor time: Movement and fresh air.
  • Creative arts: Painting, building, and imagination.
  • Rest and meals: Nourishment and calm downtime.

This balance keeps children active yet relaxed. Moreover, it mirrors the natural rhythm young children need. As a result, they stay curious all day long.

Supporting Every Area of Child Development

Great preschools nurture the whole child. Therefore, we focus on more than letters and numbers. We support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

Social skills matter enormously at this age. For example, sharing and taking turns build strong relationships. Meanwhile, emotional support helps children manage big feelings.

Building Confident Learners

Confidence grows when children feel supported. Additionally, small wins encourage them to try new things. Our teachers celebrate effort, not just results.

Preschool also prepares children for kindergarten. Because of this, we include pre-writing, early reading, and math play. Children build a strong foundation for future school success.

Encouraging Independence

Independence is a key preschool milestone. First, children learn simple self-care routines. Next, they practice making choices throughout the day.

These small responsibilities build lasting confidence. As a result, children feel capable and proud. Furthermore, this independence carries into elementary school.

Pre-School Curriculum

We use a teaching strategy called “Creative Curriculum,” when educating our Pre-Schoolers. Creative Curriculum primarily focuses on:

Creative Curriculum for preschool is a comprehensive, science based, early childhood education curriculum that has demonstrated through studies to have a positive impact on the quality of the child’s classroom conduct, as well as improvements to cognitive and social-emotional development.

Creative Curriculum promotes positive physical, social, and cognitive outcomes for children through a variety of activities including fine motor, large motor, sensory, art, dramatic play, and science activities.

Toddler Curriculum

We use a teaching strategy called, “Creative Curriculum,” when educating our Toddlers. Creative Curriculum primarily focuses on:

The goal of our toddler curriculum is to help children develop both their body and their minds in a safe and healthy place. These early, positive interactions with caring adults can give young children the confidence they need to explore their surroundings and take joy in their day-to-day discoveries.

Examples of their day-to-day activities can be found in the weekly sample schedule included below.

Infant Curriculum

Our daily infant curriculum is broken up into four categories of development:

01
Physical Experience
To assure our infants reach their appropriate physical development milestones, we employ our Physical Experiences curriculum. Physical Experiences utilizes motor activities that focus on both large and small muscle development.
02
Listening and Talking Experience
Before the age of one, infants are learning to understand the things that we are saying. For this reason, we provide a Listening and Talking Experience, which includes reading books, singing songs, and talking about the surroundings to aid in their communication development.
03
Creative Experience
Creative Experience allows infants to explore the many beauties that arts and crafts expose our minds to. The process of ‘art with infants’ enables our children to explore and experiment with different smells, textures, and artistic tools as a means of facilitating an early understanding of creative thought and design.
04
Learning From the World
Learning from the World introduces the infant to the world around us, allowing us to aid in their sensory development within a free, yet controlled environment. Examples of these activities can be found in the weekly sample schedule included below.
